Good Easter session with the guys in filthy conditions that tested the Burlycross to the max. On 29-17 now, an again the unsuitability of the Crossmarks were compensated for by the extra grip. the rear had to be feathered for traction at times but could be coped with. The brakes, well as we all had no pads left pretty quickly it didn’t mater. All i can say is that the Aluminium backing pads of the X2 race brakes still stop you pretty well, better than steel on steel.
Discovered X2 pads are nothing like mini pads, but the boys at AJ’s stripped out a new set of brakes to get me back on the road for the Quattro Sportive. Now all of a sudden the brakes have the firm lever feel I’d have expected from new. Is this coincidence, or do the stock pads make the brake feel so crap.
