I was so intent on leaving the Burlycross race ready for more gravel racing and winter fun that I got a bit involved with looking for a fast road frame. Surely with many long distance epics under its belt and no comfort issues this should be a contender. Get a grip and put the cash back in the wallet, the toy cupboard is full enough.
It’s relaxed and comfortable with 28mm boots on and makes a great winter hack but gearing options are limited to 44T max and it feels pretty good. But a quick swop to a road frame shows it just takes so much extra effort to slice through the air compared to a correctly profiled machine. For future plans those marginal gains count a thousand fold.
TD-1 remains the Burly crosser ready for more gravel races.
